XC CLEAN SWEEP FOR U13s

It was a great day for Squad athletes in action at Bucks AA Cross-Country Championships held at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes on Saturday (December 14th).

Juliette MacDougall lead a clean sweep of medals in the Under 13 age group, maintaining her unbeaten run this season for a clear victory. Behind her were two of her training partners forging their way through the field, sprinting into the medal placings also. Alice Martin took a well deserved second place while Eleanor "Nell" Frost worked her way impressively through the field into third place.

While this ensured a team win for Chiltern Harriers, their team mates were also in superb form , the six girls taking places in the top eight. Bea Robinson was in fourth, so also ensuring automatic selection along with the medallists for the Bucks Team to compete at the UKCAU Inter-Counties in March.

Providing strong back-up in 7th and 8th were Lottie Moenington and Holly Knott.

Older athletes were also breaking new ground in the Combined U17s & U20s race.

Alice Peckham set off with intent in this event and despite confessing to "easing up" on a couple of occasions during the race, managed to slot herself into a clear and unassailable third place for Bronze.

In the same race but competing as an U20, Jo Snelling also ran the race of her life coming home only just out of the medals but picking up an automatic selection for the Inter-Counties with a very good fourth place.

Completing the strong turnout from the squad were Izzy McFetrich (18th) and Lara Milburn (23rd) with the Chiltern Combined team second behind Milton Keynes.

The sole male competitor from the Squad on the day was Toby Radbourne, who was third in U20 Men's race also gaining County selection.

Meanwhile, at The Berkshire Chaps, Olivia Kirby in the Maidenhead colours finished a strong fifth, yet another athlete with March 8th etched into her diary.
